question: whats the best way to find where a business is ranking in google at their exact location? eg: I'm in the US but the business is in Canada and I want to see exactly what they are seeing or at least close to what they are seeing. if they see their site is ranking in position 12, I want to see the same thing as them based on their location. would be pointless to see them ranking at position 5 on my end if on their end, they are ranking lower.

Depending on your plan level, Semrush can do this - currently and for historical dates, for specific keyword queries, down to the city level.

Not just rankings data, but the whole SERP.

Most of these tools can also setup rank tracking at the region/city level if you just care about rankings only data and only “future forward” looking data
