We're glad you're here

This Slack space is where SEO pros share knowledge, ask questions, and connect. To make the most out of your experience, read this quick guide on finding the right channels for your questions and interests.

Step 1: Join

Head to The SEO Community Signup Page and choose a plan.

Free

The free community gives you access to 45+ Channels and over 4782 of the most genuine SEOs on the planet.

The Campfire

The Campfire is an upgrade of the free tier which is $10/month or $100/year.

Consider making the commitment because:

  • You do something good for the industry
  • Paid members keep our programming going
  • You get office hours with the founder every Friday
  • Access to the full SEO Jobs feed - posted in real time

Step 2: Learn How to Post

  • Be clear and specific: Make it easy for others to understand your question. Clear communication leads to better answers.
  • Use threads: Keep conversations organized by using threads for replies. It keeps the channel tidy and focused.
  • Keep it short: For better engagement, share a concise topic or question. Then share any extra context you may have in the thread as a reply, to keep your thoughts organized.
  • Respect and support: This is a collaborative space. Respect each other's opinions, share knowledge generously, and remember that we're all here to learn and grow together.
  • Don't offer to sell or buy links: Talking about link exchanges or offering to buy or sell links is the most common (and fastest) way to get yourself removed from this community. Just don't do it.
No Link Buying or Selling

Step 3: Use Channels

There are 45+ channels for specific topics, so browse and practice putting your questions into relevant spaces.

The Basics:

  • #captains-log — Check out the latest news and announcements from the community leaders and moderators
  • #intros — Look in #intros channels to get a sense of who's recently joined the community — and consider posting your own intro post
  • #general-seo - Post broad questions here, but try to find a specific topic channel first so you can get better responses.

Niche Topics:

  • #agency — For SEO agency related questions. Come here if you run an SEO agency, have questions about hiring an agency, or are looking for a referral to an agency.
  • #content — For sharing questions/discussions around creating content and what content works well. Also for sourcing SEO experts to contribute to your content and getting advice on hiring writers for your content.
  • #ecommerce — For ecommerce SEOs. Great for conversations about the latest in ecommerce SEO.
  • #in-house — For SEOs that are part of an in-house team at a company.
  • #jobs — SEO jobs that people are hiring for, that the community found, or that people are game to refer you to. Also for asking for feedback on how to get a (better) job in SEO and resume feedback.
  • #local-seo — For asking for advice on local SEO, local ads, or other local products. (review issues? gmb issues? multi-location business? come here, friend)
  • #technical-seo — For questions and discussions relating to technical SEO, javascript, or APIs.

Social & Casual:

For off-topic chats or connecting with your SEO friends, head to #lounge. Share your watercooler comments, shower thoughts, and off topic conversations here.

Step 4: Browse All Channels

Either path will take you to the All Channels list where you'll be able to browse through, filter, and join the community's diverse channels.

Option 1: Click on Channels in the sidebar
If you have your Slack sidebar configured in settings to display the Channels icon, this is a quick and easy way to browse all channels in the community.

All Channels #2

Option 2: In the Home view, click Channels → Manage Channels → Browse Channels
Otherwise, you'll be able to get to the all channels list this way.
