Noah Learner

Today in the Claude Code-along we’ll be covering foundational topics like Git and Version Control.

In this session, Noah shows how to finish setting up your GitHub account, and then dives back into our Google Sheet to demonstrate how to use Apps Script.

Here's what we did

  1. Setting up your GitHub account from scratch
  2. Terminology overview (push, pull, commit, etc.)
  3. Using Apps Script to connect GSC data to our Google Sheet
  4. Using Clasp to make that easier

Clasp (Command Line Apps Script Projects) is used with Claude Code to manage, develop, and deploy Google Apps Scripts (GAS) directly via the CLI.

Resources mentioned in this session

  • Google Clasp — connect Google Sheets to your local environment via the CLI
  • Jordan Choo's Claude Code starter repo — DM Jordan in Slack with questions
  • Tip from Garrett Nafzinger: Claude Code is pretty good at figuring out what to put in .gitignore (internal files, API keys, etc.)
  • Tip from Jordan Choo: Often, 90% of your time is spent on setup and it's worth it to get all the variables right.
