My local client wants to rank for their services in different cities. For example, their business operates in Orlando, but they want to rank in The Villages. I need suggestions for a tool that can run audits on different locations. Semrush and BrightLocal can only run audits based on radius, not on different cities. Additionally, what other strategies can we use to rank the site apart from creating location pages and building backlinks to target those keywords?

Not sure on an exact tool, but local ranking is a bit different vs regular SEO. Even with some service pages pointed at The Villages, searches in that area are more likely to rank for businesses in that exact locale vs one being just outside the area.

There isn't really a great way at this time to monitor ranking for service area businesses (SABs) to my knowledge. I currently use a tool called , but I think you would run into the same kinds of problems with its emphasis being on proximity. I do marketing for Pest Control however and can tell you that instead of looking at a tool, I look at how I track my keywords. For instance, we end up just tracking more terms for "keyword in [market]" than what we would typically monitor or track for. So in your case, if this was a pest control business, we would look at both "pest control orlando fl" , "pest control in the village fl", and so on.
How visible is your business? Local Falcon offers a bird's-eye view of local search rankings from anywhere in the world, in an intuitive geo-grid map format.

Places Scout has geogrid rank tracking for both map pack and organic rankings. When you're creating the rank report you can drag the pins around to the areas you are wanting to know if you rank in.

Hey @Danya Ayaz with BrightLocal, there are a couple of ways around this. You can create multiple reports for different locations, or with Local Search Grid, you can change your grid points. Feel free to reach out to our support team if you need any help ????

You can do this with Whitespark. I have a service area client that services 2 cities within 20 miles of each other:

@Dave Coppedge does Whitespark also show geogrid maps? The visual really helps to pinpoint regions of opportunity

@Courtney Edwards unfortunately not. I have yet to find a local solution that does everything in an ideal way. Quite a painpoint... I've tested quite a few, Local Falcon, BrightLocal, SemRush Local, Whitespark, SE Ranking... they each have their strong points, but I end up needing a complementary tool in a lot of cases.
Currently using BrightLocal & Whitespark for local tracking. BrightLocal has customizable grid tracking which is nice, but they lack an easy way to see position change across each point ( think Local Falcon had that with a +/- on each dot?). But they do a good job overall with being able to track keywords on standard organic desktop/mobile, local pack & local finder (and Bing if that matters).
I'm still not fully set with these - hoping to find a solid solution - "one platform to rule them all" (but that's also not $$$$)

I have seen difference in serp for “*Eyebrow threading Orlando*” from anywhere vs “*Eyebrow threading*” while you are in Orlando serves different SERP.
I haven’t used tools mentioned here but I prefer checking it by installing a location plugin on chrome and then set longitude & latitude.
After setting location of your village, search for only service name, do not add city or village name there.
Bit time consuming but I like this.
