Hey all! When I first got into SEO I started with local. I did it for a few years and then transitioned to clients with national audiences instead. That's what I have been doing for the last 13 years or so. Now, I am considering getting back into local SEO again in 2025 and wanted to know what folks thought about the different tools/suites available for local SEO? I need something to help with citation management and local rank tracking. If a can white label it that's a plus as well. I currently know of brightlocal, SEMRush Local, and Whitespark. Does anyone have any opinions on those, or better platforms I should look at? THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!

hi @Joe Hall ???? We recently went away from local rank tracking with SEMRUSH due to $. Their Local Grid Search was nice, but overall they left a bad taste in our mouths when they killed off our legacy plan and said the new plan would be more affordable and it was the exact opposite. This was on top of taking away other features we had and rolling them up under another add-on cost. We were looking at Local Falcon for local grid map searches for 2025 to highlight local visibility as that type of pricing was more cost-effective for us. I also just saw Darren announce Whitespark would soon have a local grid map too. BrightLocal seemed to have to be ran each month and thus no automation whereas LF can be fully automated and white labeled. From what I understand, Whitespark does not have a platform for local citations (it may just monitor GBP) like the likes of Yext/Uberall/Moz from what we've been told.

@Casey Yandle Wow! Great response! I am not surprised about SEMRush... they got me to upgrade my legacy as well with not much improvement. Their local addons also look more expensive than the others. Thank you for the insights, and hope you are doing well!

@Joe Hall Bright Local does have monthly/weekly automated Local Search Grid reports. You can select the specific date of the month.

PlacesScout is my go to for local rank tracking. It does grid tracking for both organic and map rankings which I think is super important. They also have a ton of features that I don't see most local rank trackers have, like comprehensive competitor and review comparisons.
In a pinch, LocalFalcon is also great because it's faster for one off reports, but it does not do organic currently. They do have a sweet metric called Share of Local Voice that I use all the time - highly recommend for audits and competition analysis.

Agree 100% with @Elizabeth Rule Places Scout for grid tracking. Local Falcon as a backup and adhoc option.

@Colan Nielsen @Elizabeth Rule Is it your opinions that they are the most accurate? Is that a fair assessment? I was curious who the most accurate one was. Any idea how the pricing compares to Local Falcon?

Places Scout tends to be the higher priced solution. But it's much more than just geo-grids. It also tracks organic rankings on a grid which is very useful.
